Dead Tree Very Alive

In the forest, when a tree dies it undergoes metamorphosis. It becomes food and a home for insects, rodents, and snakes. Things that would never grow on it while it was a tree, easily take root and fulfill the process of decay. The tree's existence becomes much more colorful.
